In the heart of the unique lakeland area of Friesland, between Leeuwarden and Drachten, you’ll find the Boat Hire Eernewoude/It Wiid Camping. This beautiful park lies in the centre of the Netherlands’ latest national park, De Alde Feanen, an area of around 2000 hectares of creeks, large and small pools with islands and large waterways.

This is a good area for getting around. There are also good connections to other Friesian sites, like Grou, Leeuwarden and Sneek. You can bring your own boat, but of course you can also hire a boat from our reception. We hire out sloops, ‘falcons’, punts and canoes. And fishing fans can weigh anchor and cast their line to their heart’s content.

Boat Hire Eernewoude and the campsite lie opposite the village of Eernewoude, or ‘Earnewâld’, as the Friesians say. The village is on the other side of the water, and can be reached by ferry boat, but you can also get there the ‘usual’ way.
